Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she won the Emmy Award. Her other credits include her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Born as the only daughter of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney was raised with four brothers. She dreamed of being a reporter for the court in childhood but started modelling while in high school eventually garnering commercials following her move into New York. Her first appearance as an actor came as an innocent teenager in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years in the 80s, has been featured in several films TV movies and in dramas. Personally, her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. The talented actress has had to deal with addiction issues in the past as well as two marriages that failed. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
